Fifteen friends and clients, none of whom had ever been on a river cruise before, embarked on a new adventure together, united by our love of travel and of Christmas! Twenty-four hours into the cruise, comments like, “10 out of 10, I would totally do this again” were overheard. We loved our Riverside Debussy ship “home,” exploring the Christmas markets in a new charming city along the Rhine every day, and being seated to a beautiful dinner service every evening on the ship with friends new and old.
Our group ranged in age from 28-67 years. We loved having a mix of girlfriends, couples and even a mother/daughter group. No one knew everyone going in, so there were great conversations and story-sharing over our dinners and mahjong sessions in the lounge on sailing days!
For some of the very seasoned travelers in our group, we agreed it was probably the most relaxing vacation we’d had in a long time. And in the weeks that followed after we returned home, the texts continued to buzz on our group chats with photos of our prized Christmassy finds (both at the markets and in antique shops we scouted) displayed in our homes AND resounding chimes of “we must go back!!”
Cue the 2026 trip…we’re so excited and can’t wait to experience the markets in Vienna and Budapest, along with our relaxing time on the ship together. Please join us this year!
